Since the initiation of Bangladesh’s Child Marriage Restraint Act (CMRA), in 1929, It has been predominantly ignored and, child marriage is still prevalent in Bangladesh as a social problem.

Lack of awareness is still a presiding factor behind the Early marriage of the children. To ensure prevention of the deteriorating health condition of the young children due to the early pregnancy, We have come forward with our campaign to stop the root cause, child marriage, commonly seen in the marginal communities of Bangladesh.

The campaign started in Sujanagar Upazilla of Pabna, as it has seen many cases of early marriage, more severely during COVID-19.

KHEA Foundation involved the local authority to make people more concerned and take this delicate matter into account with more importance. With a theme to remove the darkness and bring the society to light, the campaign was inaugurated by lighting candles in the presence of local administrative body and resident community.
